Dear Mr. Davis:
Thank you for your letter to Chairman Norman Glasgow regarding the recent article in the Washington Post describing the lost and found process at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. He has asked that I respond to you directly.
While the Post article certainly reflected the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority's (Authority) commitment to reunite our passengers and visitors with their lost belongings, it wasn't completely accurate in describing how the Authority will deal with articles confiscated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the passenger screening process.
The Authority currently makes available to its public school partners within the regional items which may be of use to them. No other distribution beyond the public schools is currently made. I appreciate your input and suggestions and they will receive due consideration should be the Authority elect to move forward with making these items available.
Thank you for your letter.
Sincerely,
James E. Bennett
