  • MISSION STATEMENT

    The primary mission of Gay Men and Lesbians Opposing Violence (GLOV) is to serve the needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual transgender (glbt) individuals, and those perceived as glbt who are victims of anti-glbt crime and prevent this type of violence against the glbt community in the Washington, DC area.

    Pursuant to its mission GLOV is currently focusing its efforts in the following areas:

    1. Client Services — includes providing referral services, information on file appropriate reports and documenting crimes for inclusion in the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Projects Annual Hate Crime Report.

    2. Community and Public Education — includes sensitivity training for the DC Metropolitan Police Department and public awareness campaigns.
