1. Volunteer for GLAA's booth at Black Pride Expo

GLAA needs volunteers to help staff our information booth at the DC Black Pride Festival next Sunday afternoon, May 24. The expo has been moved from the originally-planned DC Armory to Love Nightclub, located at 1350 Okie Street, NE, off New York Avenue. The admission price has also been lowered from $25 to $10. The headliner will be national recording artist Crystal Waters. We will be distributing GLAA stickers and flyers (especially our recently-issued talking points on marriage equality—see item #2 below), and signing people up for GLAA's email announcement list. We will take care of setting up and breaking down, so all volunteers have to do is sit at the table, greet passersby, and encourage them to take information. Please let us know by email to equal@glaa.org if you can help staff our booth for one of the hours between Noon and 5:00 pm. We will be happy to reimburse your admission to the expo. Thanks!

2. Talking Points on D.C. Marriage Equality (pdf format)

We are into our second printing of GLAA’s 10 talking points on D.C. marriage equality, which we drafted to provide you a tool in urging your D.C. Council representatives to hold firm for equality, and in educating your neighbors. We will have plenty of the brochures at our booths at Black Pride and Capital Pride, but you can also print your own copies from the pdf-format file which is now online:
http://www.glaa.org/archive/2009/talkingpointsonmarriage0517.pdf

If you want a quantity of our printed talking-points brochures to help distribute them to your friends and neighbors, contact us and we’ll arrange to get them to you.
