GLAA to conduct 25th Annual Wreath Laying
May 31 at Tomb of the Unknowns
The Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, DC (GLAA) will celebrate Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2004 with our 25th annual wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery at 3:05 p.m.
This solemn military ceremony honors all servicemembers who have given their lives in defense of America, including but not limited to the many thousands of gay and lesbian servicemembers who have done so.
The ceremony has been conducted every year since 1980 by GLAA and coordinated by Dr. Frank Kameny, a GLAA founder, community leader, and World War II combat veteran. Attendance at the ceremony is free and open to everyone.
