Distinguished Service Award to Sarah Kellogg

Presented by GLAA Vice President for Administration Christopher L. Neff

GLAA 33rd Anniversary Reception

Since joining One In Ten as a volunteer in 1998, Sarah Kellogg has been an incredible force to be reckoned with. She has used her skills and abilities as a natural leader to help manage One In Ten’s programs, from our publications and media relations in 1998-99 to the Reel Affirmations Film Festival leadership in 1999-2003.

In 1998, Sarah also joined One In Ten’s Board of Directors, helping lead such areas as Program Development, Board Governance and Women Outreach; and eventually being elected to Vice President of the Board for three consecutive terms.

Most of all, Sarah has changed the way One In Ten appreciates our staff… the 250-300 individuals who volunteer each year help her to put on these events. Without the volunteers, One In Ten could not do what they do and no one has understood that fact better than Sarah. She led the way in the fall of 2000 to create the 1st volunteer appreciation event; and in 2003, she helped create the 1st volunteer appreciation program.

Even though Sarah is stepping down from the Directorship of the Film Festival and the Vice Presidency of the Board, she is committed to remaining on the Board of Directors for next couple of years. In fact, she is currently working on a special project to create the first GLBT film archives in the Mid-Atlantic States.

GLAA is proud to honor Sarah's service to the community with a 2004 Distinguished Service Award.
