The Honorable Anthony A. Williams
Mayor of the District of Columbia
One Judiciary Square
Washington, D.C. 20001
Dear Mayor Williams:
I am writing to express our enthusiastic endorsement of Ms. Carlene Cheatam as director of the Office of the Public Advocate.
Many of us at the Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance (GLAA) have worked with Carlene on numerous projects over the years. She has invariably proven to be a hard-working, conscientious leader with a knack for getting things done. She has earned herself an outstanding reputation in all segments of the District’s gay and lesbian community, and within the broader community as well. Her dedication and commitment to the welfare of all people are exemplary.
Her ability to get things done, coupled with her undeniable people skills, should make her a perfect fit for the job of chief of the Office of Public Advocate. We are confident she would serve both you and the District well.
Sincerely,
Craig Howell
President
