DC Council Chair Ratings Announced

The Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, DC announces the following ratings for DC Council Chair Candidates in the special election on July 22, 1997. Candidates are rated on a scale of -10 to +10, based on their answers to GLAA's DC Council Chair Questionnaire and their record on behalf of the gay and lesbian community.

Issues raised by GLAA in this election include:

• Fighting regulatory abuses against gay businesses.
• Establishing effective civilian review of complaints about police misconduct.
• Defending the medical use of marijuana.
• Securing equal rights for gay families.
• Ending the multi-year backlog of anti-discrimination cases before the Office of Human Rights.
